Perfect day!


street_party_1Words fail me really – That really couldn’t have been better could it? When we first talked about doing this street party lots of people got excited ( me included ) but I have to admit I had no idea how things would  pan out, after all there are a lot of people in our road. I said that I thought we would have a good time if we all came out of our houses and had a chat. Well I wasn’t wrong!

We came out of our houses and filled the street with wonderful home made bunting and palm trees. We built a lawn, a sand pit, a covered games area, table football, a stage with live music, a face painting area. We bedecked table after table with wonderful food and drink. We did this! and not just a few of us but household after household!

I have always thought that there was something special about Avondale road – on Sunday we proved it.

What an amazing day – I also can’t believe how successful it was and can’t wait for next year.

We definitely all deserve a pat on the back for pulling together and well done to all those who made the street decorations.

It was absolutely the best Sunday ever, thanks to everbody being as generous,chilled and friendly as its possible to imagine…. definitely the best street in London to live in.

This was a seriously good event! Everyone opened their doors with the intent of joining in, and didn’t we have fun doing just that.

I have been the most annoying person in my office – Street party this, Street party that….I think it has changed the way I look at our road forever. Well done one and All.

A bit late for thank you’s but I would just like to say well done for organising the street party. I have lived on this street 9 years and have always thought it a good place to live, but this has made me feel so differently about it. It was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and it had a really relaxed feeling about it. I hope it will be an annual event.

Hey – I should stress that this was very much a joint effort so many people made an effort – We are meeting up on Thursday for a drink at the Salisbury all welcome of course!
