Meeting Last Thursday (7th May)

Map of road no entry signs

Firstly Sorry I couldn’t get this out before now but hey – I am sure you all understand.

Last Thursday saw the second official road meeting for the street party. Although we didn’t quite have the breathtaking numbers of our last visit to the Pub. We still managed to get some useful stuff done. I printed out the street party form from Haringey from here so as to get an idea of what we needed to do and by when.

We need to get signatures from all our neighbours and we have forms that you can get either from Barbara @ No. 84 or you can download your own form street-party-questionnaire and print it out. Once you have some can you post them through my door (No 68) or Barbara’s and we will colate them.

We need to get some public liability insurance which we have to show to the council – Lisa and Barbara thought that we might already have this from our Neighbourhood watch membership (we need to chase this up).

We need to send the council £60 – I guess this brings up the thorny issue of money. We have £5 left over from the kitty on the (21st) If I have to layout I will be coming round with the begging bowl (I know where you all live ;) ) We need to think up a way organising the money and keeping track – we can expect that that £60 will just be the start and none of us are millionaires (if you are a millionaire please let us know and we can arrange a special street party in your honour for a reasonable fee).

I want to do a separate post about contributing to this blog – it’s not all about me you know! it’s not hard and it doesn’t have to be about the Street party either.

Our next meeting is on the 14th May 8pm in the Salisbury

Ok I have done a little round of door knocking and know others ahve too. I have had very positive responses from numbers, 80,78,74,94,40,36,and 34 . I’ve listed them so we don’t all knock on the same door.
I now have a contact for someone who ahs successfully run street parties for a few eyars and will phone her tomorrow, hopefully she will have lots of advice which I will post up as soon as I get it.
Cheers
Barbara

Hi guys.

1. Have we sent the form off? Can I help so we get it in as presumably it needs to go ASAP.
2. Do we have an e-group yet? It will mean we all cant ignore what needs to be done – if getting emails….
3. Don’t go to glasgow and back in two days. Too tiring…

Me and Matt at no 86 (top floor, above Ben and Anita) are up for the party!

I can’t make the pub on the 14th – Matt will try to come. If not see you at another meeting soon.
Allie

Hi,

Apologies, but Jon and I can’t make it to this week’s meeting, but we will come to the next one.

I did some door-knocking at the weekend at numbers 1 through 41. I got about 10 signatures, but at about half of the houses nobody was home. I will persist with the same part of the street this coming weekend, but let me know if you want me to give a full update of names so far.

Looking forward to the meeting on Thursday. Hope to get there for 8 ish but apologies if slightly late.

Sorry couldn’t make last meeting. Has a date been set for next one?

KIDS’N CARERS FOOTBALL IN CHESTNUTS PARK

Sun 31st May at 11.30 am, I’m arranging a kick-about in Chestnuts Park for boys & girls of any age with their mums, dads or carers.

Strictly for fun and sorry, no adults without children.

Please email johndronayne@gmail.com if you’re interested. Just so I can get a rough idea of numbers.

because we are putting an email group together too… thank you and see you Thursday…

We need ribbon in large quantites and scrap material in smaller quantities for our bunting – if people have any to donate please could they bring it to the meeting on Thursday or stick it through door at numbe 84 – Thanks!
